What is your favorite ice cream?
Chocolate with cinnamon sprinkled on it. My mama used to make it that way. We didn't have a lot of money for fancy things growing up, but she always made everything seem more special.
What is your favorite thing about Savi?
She's a wonderful, loving mother. She didn't have it easy as a single mom, either. If I'd known, I'd have been there for her. But she has some serious fucking trust issues and I don't know that she'd have let me near Marisol. Till now.
What does Savi do that's most annoying?
Keeps things from me. If we're going to have a relationship, especially in the lifestyle, she has to stop hiding her feelings from me. I have to know everything she's thinking and feeling so I know when I've hit a trigger and why. And that woman has a lot of triggers. Being with her is like walking through a fucking minefield sometimes.
How old were you when you lost your virginity?
Eighteen, with a chica I met after I got out of juvie. She was into some serious pain and humiliation shit, which was a big turnoff for me. (He laughs.) Okay, well, I'm still not into humiliating a chica, but with the right woman and for the right reasons, I can get into delivering some serious pain now.
What is your favorite sexual talent of Savi's?
None of your business, no matter what you call this blog. Savi's a very private person, especially when it comes to her sexuality. That she's finally opening herself up to me is something too precious for me to exploit by talking about it with you.
What is Savi's weirdest habit?
Again, I don't want to embarrass her, but it's a coping mechanism she sometimes reverts to when she gets really stressed out or feels the walls closing in around her.
How did you meet?
Ahhh. (He smiles and looks away.) Well, we were both nineteen. I was working as a bus boy at a big-shot hotel in La Jolla in Southern California. She looked like a Barbie doll—only there was something sad in her eyes. Later…well, I found her in a dangerous situation and took care of her that night. We spent one perfect day together at my favorite beach near Laguna Beach. (His smile fades.) We lost track of each other for eight years. Ran into her a couple months ago when she was helping my niece get over a traumatic event. She's a great counselor to young abuse victims.
If there is something you could change about the first few weeks you knew Savi, what would it be?
Well, we really only knew each other little more than a day. If I'd known what was waiting for her in that Rancho mansion, I'd never have left her there that night with her sadistic father and his business partner. But she didn't let on what kind of hell she was living through. I didn't know any of that until recently, and am sure there's a lot more she hasn't told me—or that she doesn't even remember.
What is your favorite movie?
I like a lot of different types of movies. Depends on my mood. A good action film can help relieve some tension (when I can't work out throwing my whip). The Fast and the Furious kind of reminds me of my adopted family with Adam, Marc, and Grant, three Marines I served with in Iraq. We have that kind of tight bond, too. Shooter is another one I can relate to, because I also was a Marine sniper. (He looks away, smiles, then looks back.) Now, don't get the wrong idea. I'm a sadist, after all. But Marisol and I recently watched The Lion King. I'd seen it before with my niece and nephew, but this time, I really connected with the strong message about family and self-acceptance in that movie.
What is the craziest place you've had sex?
In a cave at Thousand Steps Beach, near Laguna Beach. That day with Savannah…Savi…eight years ago.
Which do you prefer? Coffee, tea, or ?
In the morning, black coffee. When I need energy later on in the day, I switch to Red Bull.
What addiction can you not live without?
The feeling of throwing a single-tail whip at a target. Nothing compares to landing the popper right where you intended and at the precise intensity you planned for the scene. The feeling is second only to hitting a target dead-on with my revolver or rifle.
Describe your favorite pair of shoes.
My black leather harness motorcycle boots.
What do you most fear?
Being unable to protect Savi and Marisol from danger. If anyone ever does anything to hurt them, I'll hunt them down and…as we Marines say, I'll get mine. But I'll do my damnedest to make sure no one gets that close.
What would you like to come back as if you're reincarnated?
I'm a predator. Definitely a big cat, like a panther, cougar, that kind of thing.
If your life were a book, what would you prefer the author not tell readers about you?
That I have a soft side when it comes to people I love. It would ruin my image. (He grins.)
Who, living or dead, would be your hero if you have one.
Adam Montague. My master sergeant straight-talked me at a very dark time in my life and kept me from taking a permanent solution to a temporary problem. In retrospect, I would say Marc D'Alessio also was a hero to me. He's the one who called Adam to that hospital bed to give me a wake-up call. There was a time when I wished Marc, my corpsman, had let me die on that rooftop in Iraq. But if he hadn't risked his own life for me, then I couldn't have been here last month when Savi and Marisol needed me. So, they're both heroes in my book.

Thanks, Candice, for straightening out the code. (The blog is updated now for those who don't read the comments!) And thanks for the support of my books, you all! Love it! Yes, BW, I am confident it will be June. It's SOOOOO close, but there's just this one wall I have to break down. Then it should go smoothly after that.

I Picked up the Rescue me series and finished the first 3 books in 4 days... I should have went slower , since now it appears my wait went from sometime this month to sometime next month... Thats okay it is worth the wait. The story is so well written that I can reread the series again , only slower , while I wait.
ReplyDeleteI have enjoyed getting to know all the characters . I find myself pulled into their lives and stories in a way that makes me feel I have made some new friends.
I look forward to Master Damian and Savi's story, since I myself came from a less than easy childhood, and feel connections to them both. Both are survivors , and both are strong , with a desire to give back , despite whatever pitfalls life ever handed them. They are an excellent match, and it will be interesting to see how they both balance each other out.
Enjoyed the interview and getting to know Master Damian better. He is a keeper and Savi and Marisol are blessed to have him in their corner.. a corner I would love to be in .
I cannot wait to read their story Nobody's Perfect, I wish it was coming sooner, however all good things come to those who wait, as we have seen time and time again in the Rescue me series .
